Pret-A-Porter 2015 FAQ:
What is Pret?
Pret-A-Porter is a fashion show where design firm teams are randomly paired with product manufacturers and are tasked with creating a couture ensemble for a runway fashion show. Some of these products are quite abstract, lighting for example, must be turned into a ready-to-wear outfit. (see below for information from 2013’s show, and our flickr page for photos from previous shows)
How do I form a team?
Each Design Team will be comprised of up to five members plus a model. We encourage the model to be an integral part of the team and someone with your firm; however, you are allowed to hire an outside professional at your cost. Teams can be made up of students, professionals, can be a design firm or you can gather a “collective” of industry members and create a team, for example, a group of designers representing Colorado Springs, has participated as “SOCO Collaborative” for several years. As long as you are in the industry you can create a team. Please be sure to register your team here you can pay on line before the show or you can select to pay at the door. You can also sign up with Rachael Clendenning (email@example.com), she is our 2015 Team Coordinator.
What happens at the Kick-off Party?
This is a fun evening where all design teams attend, they will be randomly paired with the manufacturers who have signed up to be on the runway. The committee will review a full set of event information and guidelines and a copy will be will be given out to your representative. One of your team members is required to attend. Your whole team doesn’t need to attend, we encourage at least your team captain and potentially your model to attend.
When is Pret?
The event will be held on April 17th, 2015 at City Hall. There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal for the team model and captain on April 16th. More details will be covered at the Kick-Off Party.
